Rustic Braised Green Cabbage

Rustic braised green cabbage is sweet and tangy with a healthy dose of apple cider vinegar. It has a classic taste you’ll want to have on the dinner table every week.

  • 1 large cast iron skillet

Ingredients
  

  • 1 green cabbage
  • 2 Tbsp butter or avocado oil
  • 1 sweet onion
  • 1/3 Cup chicken stock
  • 1/4 Cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 1-2 Tbsp raw sugar or honey
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Core thinly slice the cabbage. Thinly slice the onion.
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook until soft, roughly 5 minutes.
  • Add the chicken stock, white wine vinegar, sugar or honey, and cabbage. Cover and cook for 20, or until the cabbage is really tender.
  • Remove lid and cook until all the liquid evaporates. Serve warm.
