The moment apples hit the stands at the farmers market, I immediately feel the need to start making recipes like Breakfast Apple Crisp. It's the most beautiful, cozy time of year, and I'm ready to start making meals that are warming.
In a small bowl, 1/4 cup coconut sugar with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
Make the apple crisp
Preheat the oven to 350℉. Butter or oil an 8 x8 baking dish or small casserole dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, maple syrup, eggs, salt, cinnamon, coconut sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, and milk. Stir until fully combined. Then mix in the oats and apples.
Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar topping.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, until it is golden brown and the apples are tender. Let it cool for at least 5 minutes before serving.
