Why I love this breakfast smoothie
I’m a huge fan of having staple meals on hand that you don’t even have to think about. And what could be easier than a smoothie?
I love this for mornings when I have a lot to do, need to get out of the house quickly, or after I start my day with a long walk.
adding strawberries as the base of smoothies is great, since they are the lowest in sugar. I still like it to be sweet though, which is why I add a few frozen cherries.
I use a combination of kefir and coconut milk for my liquids because kefir is full of probiotics and coconut milk adds even more healthy fats.
You can add in bee pollen which is a good source of fat-soluble vitamins which means you need good fats to absorb them.
Use a little almond butter for more healthy fats and omega 3’s and protein powder for the protein and naturally occurring collagen.
Add in a handful of greens and this smoothie is killer for the mornings. My kids ask for it almost every day!
