Heat the oven to 450 degrees F.In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, baking powder, salt, milk, sugar and butter.
Using a pastry blender or food processor, cut the butter into the flour mixture until all the ingredients are incorporated.Add the dried cranberries, and use your hands to knead the dough.
Turn the dough out into a lightly floured surface. Roll out the dough until it’s about 1-1/2 inches thick.Use a biscuit or cookie cutter, cut the dough into 12 biscuits.
Grease a 12-inch iron skillet with butter, and add the biscuits to the pan.
To another small bowl, add the egg and water. Whisk together.Brush the egg mixture on top of the biscuits.
To a another bowl, add the sugar and cinnamon and mix well.Sprinkle the tops of the biscuits with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Bake until the tops of the biscuits start to turn a light golden color, about 15-20 minutes.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, maple syrup, and orange marmalade until well combined. *You can also use a hand mixer to make it a whipped butter.Remove the biscuits from the oven and serve hot with orange butter.
