Soak the almonds in water and a pinch of salt overnight or for at least 6 hours. This will help soften them and make them easier to blend.
Drain and rinse the almonds.
Combine the almonds, filtered water, and salt in a blender and blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
Pour the mixture through a nut milk maker or bag. Extract as much liquid as possible.
Optional: add sweetener to taste.
Store the almond milk in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Make sure you use raw almonds, as roasted almonds won't blend as smoothly and may affect the taste of your almond milk.
Almond milk can be used in a variety of recipes, from smoothies and shakes to baked goods and creamy sauces. You can also use it as a dairy milk alternative in your coffee or tea. The possibilities are endless.
